Recently re-opened after extensive renovation, Kings Buffet – Midland is the restaurant that, in 1997, started a chain that now numbers eleven outlets throughout Central Ontario and is still growing. The interior offers the charm and image of an open-air market throughout the buffet area. In addition to serving the towns of Midland, nearby Penetanguishene, Port McNicoll and Victoria Harbour (including delivery), Kings Buffet – Midland is a dining destination for thousands of Georgian Bay cottagers, tourists and visitors alike.
Among other community activities and contributions, The Kings Buffet – Midland Dragon Boat Festival has become a popular event since its inception. Attracting upwards of forty teams the dragon boats are crewed by twenty four enthusiastic and trained individuals, including an oarsperson and drummer who beats out cadence to help the paddlers stay in sync. This event, usually held in June, is a major attraction for spectators and lucky visitors to witness the forty-foot dragon boats press towards the finish line in front of the town docks. Take-Out and Delivery is available for virtually any size group from 11:00 AM every day except Christmas when it is available from 4:00 PM. Extra large orders require adequate advance notice and in-town delivery is free on orders of $25.00 or more before tax. Delivery charges apply on lower orders and nearby out-of-town delivery orders.
